Leah Meyer

Graduate Digital Arts and Entertainment, Independent Game Production

Who am I?

I’m a graduate of the Howest University of Applied Sciences in Kortrijk, Belgium. There I followed the course Independent Game Production.

I am a game art and development generalist, having a varied skillset. This makes me capable of jumping in for nearly every role in the production process of a video game such as art, programming, level design and business.

As a generalist I prefer to not focus on a single aspect of the production process, but instead on tasks and roles that allow me to work with the variety of skills I have.
One role that I am interested in that best exemplifies this is the role of UI programmer or UI generalist.

Bachelor thesis

For graduation work, students had to do a bachelor thesis on a topic closely related to the game industry or current technology used in it.

For this thesis I chose to delve into the subject of User Interface (UI) research, specifically UI design. The research question I developed and set out to answer was: “What are key elements to keep track of when converting UI between different platforms?”
